High grade dyskaryosis

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar to this. I have recently had my cervical screening result back which says that I have high grade (severe) dyskaryosis. I am due to have a Colposcopy this Friday and am really worried they will confirm it is cervical cancer. I am 31 years old and up until now I have always avoided cervical screenings (stupid I know). Prior to going to see my GP before my smear test with concerns about irregular bleeding now and again when I urinate (in between periods), sometimes pain during sex and often abdominal pain, I am worried that these abnormalities have possibly spread further as my bowel movements have also changed. I have a little girl and it breaks my heart to think what if she lost me. Does anyone know anyone who has had anything similar to this? Is it possible that this could still just be something like CIN3 and treatable rather than a late stage of cancer? I am worrying constantly every day about it and will be until I have had my colposcopy next Friday :(

  • Hi manda0o,

I see from your post that you are worried about some symptoms you have. When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers online, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.

Please try not to worry and I hope the appointment goes ok.
