Advice

hi all. I’m hoping for a bit of advice. I had a high CA125 blood test (87) and I’ve been told I got a cyst on my ovary and I’m post menopausal. At my last visit with gynocolgy consultant she told me I’ve now been passed over to the oncology team as my malignant index is over 200. They did try to explain this to me. But to be honest I went into big of a shock. No one asactually said I’ve got cancer but a high risk. I’m sorry to say. I’ve buried my head in the sand. Any one advice what the malignancy index is?  Thanks

  • Hi Cjenkins,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat.

I can understand your worry, but try not to panic. We have some information here, which touches on the malignancy index as well as the tests that may follow. I hope this information will make you feel prepared for what your oncology team will suggest next.

    All the best,

  • Thanks. I’ve now had results of ct scan and have a 16cm mass above uterus. Full hysterectomy booked for 26th March. My concern now is that I’m s big lady with high bmi so know the risk is higher and also I’ve had blood clots in the past. Just finished injecting. I’m glad I have a plan now though but still scared as won’t know if malignant or not until mass comes out
