Severe pelvic pain

Hi there, new to the forum, here's a quick (ish) brief on why I am here.

I'm 2016 U I was pregnant with my daughter who is now 2, and during my pregnancy I started experiencing severe pelvic pain in the left side and around back.

I put it down to it just being pregnancy related, but almost 3 years on, my pain had got worse. It comes before and after my periods, is very low down on pubic bone and radiates to my lower back. It's so painful I can't sleep on the left side.

I had an MRI on my pelvis which came back clear l, also up to date on smear etc but was having regular checks as was hpv positive 4 years ago.

Does any body know if I should be completely reasurred theres nothing sinister going on as my MRI was clear? Is there anything else I should be asking?

I have had other health issues going on the past 10 months that doctors do not know the answers. I developed Unknown neuropathy which is progressing in my hands and feet.

The only health worry I've had previous to my Neuro problems was this extreme pelvic pain, and then developed this widespread pain in my hands and feet.

Because of my on going referrals and trying to get to The bottom of my nerve pain cause, I put my pelvic pain to The back of my mind. But now it's got really bad, I need to see a doctor, but stupidly worried they are just going to send me to get therapy as I have so much going on undiagnosed.

Also one of my consultants in neurology mentioned sometimes if there is a cancer in the body, in rare cases it can cause neurological problems in different types of syndromes. So obviously now I'm concerned there is something in my pelvis.

I'm only 33, all of this is just a bit too much and really would appreciate some advice.

Many thanks x

  • Hello SMills85,

I am sorry to hear about your pelvic pain  I can appreciate that it must be worrying for you if you feel your pain is getting worse.  It is reassuring that your MRI was clear but it might be worth going back to your doctor or getting a second opinion. You can find out more about this here.  I hope you find the reassurance you need soon.

  • I could literally have written this post.

I've had lower pelvic pain, almost feels like pain in the pubic bone. Like a dull ache. It started off coming and going but now it's there most of the time and the pain is worse. It's radiating to my back but feels like nerve pain in my back.

I also have weakness in my left arm and leg as well.

Did you find out what was causing this pain. I had a CT of my pelvis which was clear and now being referred for an MRI of lumbar spine to see if theres something causing back pain. I really feel there's more going on though.

I'm also 18 months after having a baby but didn't have a natural delivery. Had C section.

Any advice on whether I should keep pursuing this or just believe what they told me.
