Clinic called after mammogram

Hi all 

 

my family history is horrendous. Breast and womb cancer throughout all generations

i have had a few scares and just had a mammogram as I’m 48. It was always ultrasounds before. I know I have a lump as I can feel it and it’s painful and has been there for a while. 

 

I have been called back to have more tests. They said there is a mass and need a clearer look. To say I’m scared is a understatement so looking for any words of wisdom on this

    Hello!

    The waiting is simply the worst bit!  Did they say when you will be having your further tests?  I find it’s always useful to have dates to focus on.  Did they say what further tests?

    I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 after finding a lump. Ultrasound, biopsy and mammogram.  Unfortunately now waiting for blood results and MRI on Sunday to determine whether I have ovarian cancer.  Scary stuff as my sister has been diagnosed with a breast cancer recurrence today!

    I have OCD so waiting simply doesn’t sit well with me!  Keeping busy is the key!  I just tend to make a nuisance of myself with the hospital if I want information!  My consultant wrote me a letter on 8th Feb re my MRI and I still haven’t received it.  I only know about it because my GP received an electronic copy.  

    If I can offer any further advice / guidance then please let me know.
