Hi,
I had an appt at the breast surgery clinic today. I wasn’t too worried as was here last year after finding a large lump in my left breast. Thankfully last year it turned out to be a large cyst and once it was drained the pain and swelling went away and all was well.
Anyway, two weeks ago I noticed a large lump at the top of my right breast just at the top of the nipple. GP wasn’t worried but referred me back to the breast clinic anyway just to be sure.
The doctor I saw didn’t have a great bedside manner. If he too felt the lump (though the swelling has gone down and it’s no longer painful) and he did a biopsy. Though it was different from the biopsy I had last time. The syringe had a stainless steel pumping handle on it (not sure what that was about as he didn’t explain). After he finished he just said that they would arrange a ultrasound scan, see me in 6 weeks and let me know the results of my biopsy. I was a little flabbergasted and realaised I hadn’t asked when I would get the results.
can anyone tell me the usual length of time for biopsy results? Starting to worry as this whole experience was very different to last time. I’m 34 and trying to get pregnant but now feel like I have to wait to check I have the all clear....
Any advice would be gratefully recieved.
