Swollen Lymph nodes

Hello and thanks for reading and possibly helping me. I just wanted advice from people who had more than 1 swollen lymph nodes in their neck. I’ve had bloods biopsy and scan and now just waiting result. Can people please just tell me there stories about lymphoma  and finding out you had it. I’m beside myself with worry and I often feel better when reading posts on here even if there just similar. I just would love someone to talk to about it. Thank you

  • Hi, I’m in a similar position myself at the moment. Ive have multiple enlarged lymph nodes since January. I had my CT scan on Monday and received a letter today with an appointment to discuss my results next Wednesday the 27th x

  • Hi, I finished chemo in November for lymphoma . Was a bit of a shock as I have other auto immune problems and thought it was that. However, the first symptom I had was a terrible itch, I had been losing weight for a while and my stomach kept thinking it was full with just a bite or two. I had terrible fatigue, cudnt do much, and drenching night sweats which I had to change during the night. It was only when a lump appeared on my neck the doctor sent me for tests. I had been to see my GP a few times but no one listened to me about the weight loss. I was getting my bloods checked as my kidney levels were going down a lot. It was actually a relief to be told they had found what was wrong with me. Unfortunately on my follow up appointment last month my consultant found another lump on my neck so I am back to the waiting game. X-ray, bloods and biopsy taken two weeks ago. I’ve been told it is unusual for it to come back so quickly but I certainly know how you feel.the waiting is the worse even second time round. I guess lumps in neck could be caused by a lot of other things so I’m trying to keep my mind focused on that and if it’s not I will deal with it. I would rather just know what it is. I hope this post hasn’t depressed you, but it’s just my story. Stay strong and let me know what your results are, fingers crossed we have good news x

  • the wait is the worst part I hope everything goes ok in your appointment. I should be hearing back this week sometime. Let me know how it goes xx

  • thank you for replying and telling me your story. Sounds like you’ve been through a lot!! I know you try and stay positive and think of other things it could be but it’s always there in the back of my mind, the what if it’s serious the waiting game is defiantly the worst part! Im the same id rather just know and then see what the nexts steps are. I hope everything will be ok for us both xxx

  • hi sorry to bother you, I just wondered how long it took you to get your results for lymphoma and how the doctor told you? If you don’t mind me asking x

  • Hi, I was diagnosed with non Hodgkin lymphoma just before Christmas and I agree the not knowing is the hardest part. It actually came as a relief once I found out exactly what was wrong. I’m just about to have my fourth cycle of treatment after which I’ll have tests to see how I’m doing.  I hope you get good news from your results but if not what I can tell you is that lymphoma is very treatable with a high possibility of a good outcome. I’ve dealt with it by keeping positive, there’s also a huge support network through cancer uk and McMillan so you’re never alone. What ever the news is you can beat it, Keep in touch and let me know how you get on. Good luck, try not to worry(easier said than done I know) and stay strong. YOU CAN GET THROUGH THIS!

  • Hi, my first biopsy took three weeks to come through but then I had to have ct scan and bone marrow biopsy then another biopsy, this was all to determine what stage and type of cancer and the second biopsy was to tell if it was aggressive or not. This was to let them decide the best treatment for me. From me actually going to my GP and starting treatment was around 12 weeks. All my tests took weeks. This second biopsy I had has now been three weeks today and I still havnt heard from consultant. They will be getting a call on Monday if I don’t hear soon, I’ve waited long enough now. X

  • Sorry to hear this! I’m going through a similar situation at the moment. I felt a lump on my neck in January and went to the doctors, as I was ill he said it was just a reactive lymph node and would likely go away over a few weeks. It didn’t go back to normal so I was referred to the hematolgy unit, and sent for bloods and CT scan which I found odd as thought usually it’s a biopsy first?? The CT scan came back this Monday and I have a biopsy booked for next Thursday on my neck and ultrasound as a cyst on my ovaries was picked up! Going out of my mind with the waiting, google isn’t exactly helping with the worry. Hope your results come back fine, I had breast cancer aged 30 in 2013, concerned this has come back as lymphoma, fingers crossed it’s benign

  • Scones, definitely call them! I had my CT scan on the 21st of February and I called daily, it came in 2 days after it was done. But she even said on the phone if I hadn’t have called I would have waited another week and a half to be given that result during an appointment and then longer for the biopsy. As I called they looked into it there and then and requested that biopsy straight away. Waiting’s the worst!! If you don’t contact your just waiting for the next appointment to be told what they already know. Hope you get your answers soon x

  • Hi, thanks for the little push I needed to call them, I did it this morning only to be told my doctor doesn’t work at that hospital on a Thursday and Friday but she did check up on my results and told me they are in but the doctor will have to tell me what they are. She has left a note for her on Monday, typical, just my luck another weekend to wait.
