Hi all, first post and a bit of a long one!
I don’t know if anyone can help, or suggest any other test.
Basically I’m here about my partner. He’s 37 years old. This all started around 2 years ago when his stools became like water (sorry tmi!). He then began noticing blood after going to the toilet, stomach cramps and nausea/vomiting on occasion, extreme sweating at night, weight loss and fatigue.
Now the blood has been almost constant, watery stools also up until a couple of weeks ago where they have changed to a more solid finger-shape but painful to pass, and he also has numbness around the lower torso/pelvic region and parts of his limbs and lower back. He cannot pass urine properly unless he presses on his bladder as he cannot feel the muscles working, and he feels no sensation when he goes to the toilet.
He has had 2 colonoscopy’s, the last one noted thickening of the lower part of his bowel so a flexible sigmoidoscopy was carried out a couple of months later, along with approximately 5 biopsies taken. The results have all come back clear.
Obviously I’m worried he has colon cancer, he has the same symptoms, and from family experience I am aware that cancers can be missed and then found when it’s too late, I’m at a loss what to do next.
My partner is understandably fed up of seeing his doctor, being prodded and poked only to be told there’s nothing wrong. But really, can 2 years of bloody stools like water, along with his other symptoms really be nothing?
I don’t know if anyone can help, or how but I just needed to get it off my chest.
