Really worried about cervical cancer

For around a year and a half I have been bleeding inbetween periods it is a brown colour and my urine always says there is blood in it also have other symptoms.

My GP stated that it is coming from my cervixs.

So I am terrified.

Symptoms are.

Back pain.

Bleeding between my periods

Upper leg and back pain.

Pain during sex.

I seen the gyne that told me my uterus was large but said my symptoms are PCOS, Suffer wirh PCOS since 16 now 38 and never had this happen.

Should I get a second opinion?

Thank you.

  • Hi Andrea,

Sorry to hear you are worried about your symptoms. I think you should definitely seek another opinion and push for a referral. Bleeding between periods should never be taken lightly and I am surprised your doctor didn't think of referring you especially as you have other symptoms. It could be due to a number of things and might not be linked to your cervix. Have you had or are you due a smear test soon? it's really the best way to detect any abnormalities in the cervix. If your smear is not due soon then definitely ask for a referal to see a specialist x
