20 year old worried about Cervical Cancer HELP

Hello,

Over the past three years I have had light spotting after sex. (I've had the same sex partner for this time)

I never thought it was something to worry about as I just put it down to maybe my boyfriends penis is a bit too big for me causing micro tears

I've been to see a doctor, had a pelvic exam and couldn't find anything. I've had my bloods checked and they were all good and so were my swabs for infections and that.

My doctor has sent me to see a gynaecologist this week to "put my mind at rest" but I've recently been panicking about cervical cancer. The only symptom I've had so far is the one mentioned. But I've started getting leg pain in both legs that feel like a sting and sometimes an ache. It doesn't affect my ability to walk, it is just mildly annoying. I don't have any swelling. This pain has been worrying me incase it is another symptom of cervical cancer. The pain comes and goes and usually doesn't last longer than 10mins.

I'm also not on any pill for contraceptive.

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

  • Welcome to the forum Blueeyes although I'm sorry for the reason you've joined us.

It's great that the tests you've had so far have all come back clear although it must be a tad frustrating not knowing what is causing your symptoms.

It's easy to jump to worse case scenarios in situations like this but try not to let your mind get the better of you if you can. Your gynaecology appointment isn't too far away now but whilst you wait maybe you could make a note of anything that is playing on your mind, including what you've mentioned above, and take it with you to your appointment so you can get your questions answered and put your mind at ease.

    Kind regards,
