Waiting for biopsy results

Hi,

I'm new here and currently recovering from a CT guided biopsy carried out a few days ago. I was found to have a tumour nearby my adrenal gland after being admitted as an emergency with suspected kidney stones. I've had numerous scans - CT, MIBG and coped OK with waiting for results for those but I'm now finding it difficult after the biopsy. Does anyone have any tips for dealing with the wait? I'm becoming really irritable and angry and finding that I'm isolating myself. I just can't seem to talk about this with anyone. Any advice appreciated! X

  • Hi, I’m so sorry you have to post on this website, the waiting is definitely the worst thing ever. I finished my chemo for lymphoma in November and coped well with treatment. Went back for my follow up appointment and doc found another lump on my neck. She said it was  unusual for it to come back so quickly but sent me for X-rays and ordered an urgent biopsy to be done which I got on Thursday so here am I waiting again and I know it will take around two weeks. I feel gutted atm wondering if I can cope going through it all again. Today I got news that my brother has advanced cancer everywhere and may only have a few months to live. Well that shocked me and gave me a reality check. If my cancer has came back I have a chance again. You will cope as I will, I would advise talking to people or even keep posting on this site where everyone understands how you feel. Keep busy and stay off dr google(says me who has worried herself sick) but I’m not doing it anymore. Just keep busy, I found even tv every advert has cancer mentioned which makes you worse at this vulnerable stage. I went on a baking spree, my freezer was full of cakes, I even made loads of dinners and froze them in case I wasn’t well, we are still eating out the freezer lol. Hubby took me out for my anniversary so tried to keep cheery, my grandson cheers me up so I will visit him more over next few weeks. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are coping. Take care xx
