Lump on neck :(

Hello! I'm 21 years old and recently (about a month and a half ago) found a lump on my neck the size of a pea. I originally went to see a doctor and they told me not to worry and to come back if i have any symptoms, etc - I did, I started getting occasional night sweats, super fatigued, extreme itchiness and the lump grew to the size of a large cherry (movable lump, not painful). I also have a horrible pain in the top of my back and my hip but they said they couldnt feel any more lymph nodes that were enlarged.. I've been sent for an urgent appointment with a hematologist and now I'm terrified - has anybody else experienced this and had it NOT be cancer? what will the hematologist do? :(

    Well done firstly for going back to the doctor's. As scarey as it is, you have done the right thing. 

    Im not sure of the process that you will go through, so I can't help with that. They will need to do some tests to see if anything is wrong, but it doesn't mean there is. 

    I have a lump in my neck and also an enlarged tonsil, so I'm just waiting for my Tonsillectomy which is next week so they can test to see what the issue is. 

    I didn't have any symptoms at all until I went to the hospital for my first visit, about a month ago and  I can  honestly say that I have suddenly developed more aches and pains all over my body than I've ever had. 

    Keep posting, it does help. Let us know when you get your appointment.

    Thank you so much for replying, I’m really hoping it’s nothing but I can’t help but constantly google/watch YouTube videos on people who have went through the same thing :cry: I hope everything goes okay with your tonsillectomy! Wishing quick recovery for when it does happen. And it’s been a week now and still no appointment, so I’m guessing it will all happen next week.  Xxx

    I know it's very hard but don't Google. There are hundreds of posts on here that advise against it. I've done it too, but promise yourself you won't. 

    Post your darkest thoughts here and search through some of the other posts. There is far more useful information on here from people than on Google. 

    Don't be afraid to contact your doctor again if you don't receive an appointment soon.

    I finally had my hematologist appointment! They felt the lump and said I had a few others as well, but they think it’s only a low chance of Lymphoma. I had a chest x-ray and I’m going to an ENT on Tuesday to have an ultrasound and biopsy.. even though they said it’s low chance I’m still scared!
