Hello

I am looking for some advice if anyone else has been in a similar situation. Before Christmas I had pain and difficulty swallowing which continues. I also have discomfort to the left of my neck with a constant feeling of something being in my throat.

My GP referred me for an ultra sound and barium swallow which took place 2 weeks ago. The Dr completing the ultra sound advised he could see nodules on my thyroid but would need to produce a full report etc. He said that a biopsy wasn’t required and that my results will be discussed with the ENT consultant on my visit. 

My results appointment is 19th Feb and my question is, if they found nodules on the US then why wasn’t a biopsy taken and surely, this seem like a long time to wait for results?
