Ultrasound results

My sister has been having difficult periods for a couple of years (since she started contraception really). Bleeding between periods and quite discoloured and painful periods. She's had a transvaginal scan last week and now the GP has called and said he needs to see her urgently. She's booked an appointment next Wednesday. Should I be pushing her to make it earlier?

  • It depends on what day it is on. If it's at the beginning of the week no but if it's later on I would x

  • If I was asked to make an urgent appointment, I'd expect to be given one within a couple of days. It can be difficult juggling other commitments, but this seems a priority. If staff are saying no other appointments are available. I'd ask them to check with the GP if he was okay with the timescale. Hope everything goes smoothly.

    regards, gamechanger

  • If its an urgent appointment then it should be within 48hours, if nothing is available with this specific doctor then I would be asking for either a phone call from the relevant gp or a message to be passed to the gp asking them to decide if the appointment your sister has been offered ìs within an appropriate period of time but truthfully if it was me I would be heading down to the surgery on monday for opening.
