hello
i had a swollen tonsil which is a sign of tonsil cancer but when I was referred to the specialist he had a look and feel and knew it wasn’t cancer. So u can just have swollen tonsil on one side and this just be this.
Dont worry. U should see the doctor but it sounds to
me that ur over panicking and worrying. I can’t see much on your picture. Tonsils and lymph nodes are connected. The lump u describe may actually be a swollen lymph node. This is all part of infection fighting. It could be something as simple as needing
a course of antibiotics for a masked infection somewhere in your body.
To put your mind at rest go to the doctor. Do not be alarmed if you are put on the 2 week cancer referral pathway. I was too - it’s to be safe. Nine out of ten people referred do not have cancer.
Thank you for your response! Has made me feel much more at ease, I’ve had lumps for approx. 2 years only just now the one I can see has grown slightly and began bleeding every so often, glad you got the all clear!
