I've been reading this site a lot recently and following peoples journeys. I'm posting to see if anyone has had similar symptoms, so many of the stories I follow always end without the original poster telling us how they got on.

For the last 6 months I've had a mucus issue after I've been for number 2, which means I have to wipe again the next couple of trips for a wee (sorry for the explicit detail) and very occasional bleeding. I went to see my GP who examined me, she said I had 1 hemmeroid which must be on the outside because she hadn't started the internal exam. She also said she felt immflammation inside and could see the mucus.

I've had a blood test, FOB and FC, all of which are negative, but I know I was bleeding during one of the FOB samples, so I don't understand how its clear.

I've been booked in for a flexible sigmoidoscopy next week

Health wise except for my weight I have no medical problems. I don't have any other symptoms other than whats listed above, but in the last couple of months I've lost two friends to bowel cancer, neither much older than me, and its making me terrified.
