Ovarian Cancer Results

Hello,

Over 8 months ago I starte getting really bad pains in my lower right abdomin and lower back. I also noticed a change in my periods - I have always been very regular and have never really struggled with my time of the month but suddenly my periods were delayed by a day each month (nothing too concerning at first) they also became very heavy and I noticed my tummy cramps were a lot worse around the time I would be ovulating. The pains gradually got worse over a few months and I had the feeling something wasn't right. My main concern was that I have have quite a strong family history on my paternal side of Ovarian cancer.

I made an appointment with my GP who arranged blood tests and an ultrasound to see what may be causing the pains. My blood tests came back at a normal level however the ultrasound showed a cyst on my right ovary which was pressing on my kidney and bladder. My GP sent an urgent referral to see a specialist. I saw my consultant on NYE who arranged for me to have an MRI scan which I had about 3 weeks ago. I know have an appointment for this Wednesday for the results of that and to see where we go from here.

I am trying not too worry too much, but it is hard not too. The best thing is, it's being dealt with quickly.

I guess I wanted to put my experience on here as it seems to help me talk about what I'm currently going through. I'm lucky to have a good support network around me but I'm covering a lot of my fear from my friends and family until I know if it is something to worry about.

Id also urge anyone who feels like something isn't quite right in their body to go and get it checked.

If anyone has any advice on what to expect next I would really appreciate it as it all feels a bit overwhelming an the fear of the Unknown.
