Aprox 5 yrs ago I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Having tried the back injections to numb the nerve endings with no success, I was given slow release morphine and pregabalin for the pain and that was that.
two and a half years ago I started getting symptoms of ovarian cysts, although at the time I had no idea.
These were things like severe continuous bloating,(I looked 9months gone).
Unable to eat and when I tried to eat i felt full instantly, and several other things were wrong.
my Drs insisted on treating one symptom at a time everytime my husband or I questioned it.
This New Years eve i was admitted for an emergency hysterectomy. Having gone to hospital several days previously for extreme pain and being treated like I was a hypercondriac, they begrudgingly gave me a ct scan, after an xray had shown up nothing at all.
I received a letter asking me to return asap as they had found several very large cysts and I needed them removed as soon as they could get me in. As I said, i went to see the consultant at 9 am New Year's Eve and was admitted there and then.
I was discharged the following day with no after care advice, no knowledge of what exactly I'd had removed and totally in the dark about what happens next?!
My husband and I have been treat appallingly and have since found out I should get a follow up appointment within the following couple of weeks.
I am petrified about what happens next, what did they find etc etc. The surgeon was very good trying to explain that he wouldn't know for sure what would be removed until he'd seen inside, but had to get my permission to remove everything should that be needed. He also said he was going to take a biopsy of my stomach lining and do some washes? I didn't see him again after the operation as it was New Year's Day.
Does anyone have any advice on what I'm to expect? Is there a chance this was cancer? How likely is it that they've gotten it all?
Sorry for the long post and all the questions but this really has been a 'wow, what the hell just happened?!?' Kind of feeling, my heads still reeling from it all.
thanks for taking the time to read this x
