Advice and experiance with results please.

so long story made short, in august mums started with big rash on and under her breast she left it ages then went to out of hours who gave her antibiotics  and cream because it had broke the skin under her breast, also her breast was bright red swollen and hard. It all went away.. fast forward to october it was back and by december it was again all painful hard swollen itchy.... again antibiotics given didnt touch it new years eve she was admitted to a and e who transferred her to a different hospital and gave her iv antibiotics and an app for breast clinic, breast clinic showed large abcess in breast and was told without any uncirtenty it was a malignant mass... come back a week later for what type of cancer goes back a week later biopsy is negative this surgen dusnt know why mum is so worried as its just an abcess come back a week later as although abcess had been drained with a needle it wasnt going... they decided it needed to come out as it was now damaging the skin. So the next day she had an op to remove the abscess however mum was t told they would be taking anymore biopsies until she went to a follow up last tuesday and the surgen told her biopsies arnt back yet now the problem is they still are not back 15 days ago including weekends she had the op now she is uncontrolable with worry as to shy they are taking so long does anyone have any advice?

  • Ill be honest the thing that has made this a while lot worse is one of my mums friends has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer out the blue and her results took over 2 weeks so now she thinks they have sent it for nore testing and also the 1st sugeon she saw who told her it was definently malgnant without any results she has been through the mill and just how long it has gone on im relly hoping it is just an abcess that got relly bad even tho she didnt feel unwell, thanks for taking the time to talk to me and i will let u know the outcome when results are back xx

  • Hi Ella.

Awful news of her friend will have made this all so much harder for mum to cope with for sure.

I am dismayed at the first surgeon saying definatly malignant without pathology to back that up,no wonder your poor mum is in a right state anyone would be.

You hang on to your belief and hopes for a good outcome that way you can  best support your mum through this.

Do keep in touch I will be thinking of you both xx

  • Hi clara, firstly i just want to say thank u for taking the time out to reply to my post and reassure me probably more than u will ever know mum got results through the post this morning stating that she has not got cancer and patholagist found chronic inflamation. I wish you all the very best for the future xx

  • Hi Ella.

Oh I am so pleased that the long wait is over and its great news! That flaming surgeon caused your mum so much grief and worry. Thank you for the update its always nice to hear of a good outcome,as so many of us on here its not so good.

Sending all my best wishes to you and mum xx
