Welcome back to Cancer Chat although I am sorry to hear that you mum has been experiencing bladder issues recently and that they have also found a growth or shadowing in her lung. It's a shame that the location of the growth makes it impossible for a biopsy to be carried out.

I am sorry to hear about your worries concerning possible secondaries in your mum's lungs. I am not a doctor, but have lost my own mum to secondary breast cancer and, have had 2 bouts of primary cancer myself in the past 9 years.

What a pity that the doctors cannot do a biopsy because of the position of this shadowing. I suspect that this could go either way.

I lost mum 21 years ago. She had breast cancer for 12 years before she was diagnosed with metastases. By this time they were in her liver, lungs, brain and bones. Sadly, she didn't last long after that.

Nowadays, things are so much better. There is no comparison between the treatments which we have both received. Things have advanced and are continuing to advance all the time. Whereas once a diagnosis of breast cancer was a death sentence, people are now living with cancer.

I sincerely hope that her next scan, doesn't show any further changes.
