Suspected Cyst on pancreas

Hi, I’m new here and looking for some experience in this area.

On Saturday I went for a pre-planned operation which didn’t go ahead as the surgeon found something in my abdomen which required further tests. When I later spoke to the surgeon he said he believes it could be a cyst on my pancreas.

The surgeon ordered some bloods (MLAS and CA19) now the surgeon hasn’t contacted me about the results of these >:) but after speaking with the nurse my MLA’s fine but the CA19 is slightly raised.

I am currently awaiting a CT scan but I am so worried this could be something serious.

Bearing in mind the surgeon has been really bad communicating with me should I take this as a sign it’s not too serious and just await the CT appointment?

Thank you in advance x x x

  • Hello Acnewbie and welcome to our forum!

I am sorry you are going through all these investigations at the moment following the discovery of a cyst on your pancreas. I think you are right though that the only thing you can do at the moment is await the CT appointment which hopefully will come very soon. Try not to read anything into the fact that your surgeon hasn't been great at communicating with you but hopefully you will get more clarity on all this soon.

Hopefully you will get to talk to others here who have been in a similar situation or have had themselves a slightly raised CA19.

We are keeping everything crossed for you. Keep us updated when you get a chance!

    Best wishes,
