Unexplained bruising, blood tests OK

Hi,

Hope someone has some help and advice.

Im a 34 year old male, in good health until the past 18 month, when I started getting unexplained joint pain and my mental health took a nose dive.

About 8 week ago a bruise appeared on the inner side of my left upper arm, extending from my armpit.

At one point a bright right spot about the size of a 5p appeared next to the bruise, then went leaving a mark the same dark colour as the bruise.

The bruise has not changed colour, there's no pain, no previous injury.

I have had my blood tested for everything possible 3 times, each time it is good.

Ive had ongoing joint and bone pain that the GP has put down to stress.

I'm at my wits end, my GPs dont want to know, just keep repeating that my blood and bone profiles are good.

I'm fatigued constantly, my mental health is shot and they are just lumping everything on that.

I'm a fit healthy lad, I've gone from running half marathons to struggling to get out of bed.

  • Hi, I was also searching unexplained bruising when I found this chat. I have an autoimmune condition called Lupus. Fatigue, joint pain and brain fog are the main symptoms for me. On average it takes 7 years for people to be diagnosed as the symptoms are often not linked by a GP. I was initially diagnosed with stress related depression until I found a post like this and asked to be tested. I've had it now for over 10 years and it has led to me also being diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Might be worth mentioning lupus to your GP.

Bruising is new for me but may also be related.

  • Hi all,

I ended up on here after googling symptoms, as my daughter (20yrs) has been having such strange symptoms and seeing your post I finally feel like I'm not going mad! She started having prolonged periods (5weeks at a time), she's pale, going dizzy, swollen stomach, tired all the time and she just comes out in random bruises! I was convinced it was anemia but her blood tests have all come back normal, but she did have blood in her urine! I was wondering if after all the blood tests coming back normal, what other tests would they do if any! I'm at a complete loss! Thank you

  • Bit of an old post but I like to have an input. I get bruises badly and wake up with them on my thigh especially, I went to get  in the shower and saw this huge purple bruise and it didn't hurt at all. Then days went by and I had like 3 big ones on the same side like someone had literally punched hell out of my leg and they began to hurt . They checked iron and was fine.. I get pain and it turned out to be fibromyalgia and chronic as well.

Now have some sort of problem with tingling in my face and lips then going down my body like a shock and makes me feel strange and feel loss of balance. Happening for a little over 3 years and doctors just say it's stress   could be a brain tumour for all they know as I have neurofibromatosis type 1 which is non cancerous tumours, but they can grow to cancer. Its hard to get any doctors to listen as they think they are right about everything when they know nothing about my condition at all.i need full body mri scans once a year and don't get it.

Did you figure out what's wrong x
