Hip pain

Hi everyone here!

I have been having pain in right hip for the last one year. The pain is severe when I sit long - like the flight from London to Toronto which I took in September. As I arthritis problem - I thought it was due to that (I am 55 male ethinic Indian) but last Christmas when went to Cardiff by car I had immense pain thoughtout the drive.

I saw my Gp and she gave me X-ray and now the report says this:

"increased density overlying the sacrum probably reflects bowel contents. However, a sclerotic lession migh have similar appearances. Recommend repeat AP +- lateral imaging of the pelvis"

My appointment with the GP is on 23 January. And the internet serach on these lines has led me here. Do  I have bone cancer?

  • Hello Treat321 and welcome to Cancer Chat,

I am sorry this hip has been causing you a lot of pain recently. Unfortunately we are unable to interpret results from reports on this forum but it won't be long now until you see the GP who will advise you further on this. I know it is really hard to wait for results but try not to do too much internet research if you can avoid it as it will invariably make you worry more and bring up the worst possible case scenarios.

Let us know what the GP said on the 23rd if you get a moment!

    Best wishes,

  • Thanks for your advice. That was bowel content due to constipation. No cancer though.
