  • Hi, I can completely relate to how you're feeling. I'm 26 (27 next month) I have two young kids too. My eldest he's 2 and a half almost and my youngest she's almost 3 months. I also found a lump about a month ago I had my appointment at the clinic today. The consultant checked me over and he said it was nothing could be breastfeeding induced as he couldn't feel it however 2 Dr's at my surgery could feel it a month prior to that. Anyway moving forward the consultant told me I should have the scan anyway but I can be on my way after that as the images will probably show nothing. Only to go in and have an ultrasound for them to find what looks like a cancerous lump. They took a biopsy straight away, the lump is around 1cm in size. It was painful, well I found it painful anyway. I was in tears probably because of the added anxiety and just the general feeling of being overwhelmed, I mean of course I have a husband who I adore and 2 small kids and a big family. It's all too much to take in but I won't hear back for two weeks. The consultant did say if they write to me it's good news if they call me in for an appointment it's because they need to discuss things with me as it may be cancer or it may be benign. I'm hoping it's benign and they can just remove it and done. Ideally I would just love to receive that letter and be done with this lump debacle.

I hope this doesn't scare you but untimately I wasn't prepared for today I wish I was. I wish I knew more and I wish somebody had told me this or I at least read it here. I'm praying for the best for all of us. Just prepare yourself for this appointment and do take a loved one with you.

  • That must have come as a huge shock, I really do hope you get a letter saying all is well but if not you really are in the best possible hands.   I can't imagine how anxious you are feeling about this but there are plenty of people on here in a similar position if you ever need someone to talk to everyone is lovely and either gone through it or awaiting results!

I am as prepared as I can be, just want to do it now.  What will be, will be.

  • So happy for you jo, now please relax and enjoy your weekend, also, welcome to the fibroadenoma club! Scary but harmless, but as others have advised do keep checking regularly and keep an eye on your fibro and general boobs for any changes! Congrats again xxx

    Hi Iqra,

Just wondering how you are coping with your wait for test reslts? With 2 young children you shouldn't have any bother keeping busy in the meantime. I don't think that we are ever prepared for a positive result.

Here's hoping that it's good news when you get it.

    Kind regards,
    Jolamine xx
