CIN3 no clear margins.

Hi. I’m new to this forum. I was diagnosed with CIN3 6 months ago. I had lletz treatment to remove and biopsy. I didn’t hear anything so went to GP who then sent me back to the consultant. He advised hysterectomy and I agreed as have children. I am 41 years old.

I am an due another near test next week. But I’m still waiting for date of my hysterectomy and it can’t come quick enough now. I am anxious that things will get worse while I am waiting as no clear margins.

Is is anyone else is my situation?

Does anyone suffer from chronic fatigue? I am wondering if this is linked?

Also 4 years ago I was diagnosed with ectropium of the cervix. I am curious if I was misdiagnosed as all smears all my life have been clear. From what I have read it takes years to go from nothing to CIN3?

I have for example just welcomed [@Chere90]on this thread who has also had a loop biopsy recently and has had treatment for severe dyskaryosis so you may have a lot to say to one another about your recent experiences. I hope you will also meet others here who suffer from chronic fatigue and who can relate to how you are feeling at the moment.

I hope you won't have to wait too long now for your hysterectomy and best of luck for your test next week. Let us know how it all goes if you get a chance. We'd love to hear from you again.

  • Hi NRS,  After having what thought would be my last smear at the end of last year,my results came back as cin3. I have never had an abnormal smear before. Although my last one 5yrs ago was normal but no transformation cells present. I have now has a Letz a loop biopsy that has come back with out clear margins. My consultant says there was not enough cervix left to carry out a cone biopsy and I would need a hysterectomy. I have now has two appointments through one for colonoscopy gynaecology and the other for oncology gynaecology. As you can imagine i am beside myself. Wonder why oncology if they are precancerous cells.

I am a practice nurse and I carry out smears but doesn't make this any easier.

  • I'm also 41 with same as you !!! I go for colposcopy tomorrow .. so ehy do you need a hysterectomy ? At com 3 . I also have an etropion now I'm worried !! Iv  been missed diagnosed too ??

how does it go from normal to this in 3 yr when it says 10-15 ..

awful isn't it I guess it's because of our age ???

  • Hi I was diagnosed with cin3 last week so they sent me for colposcopy and did the loop treatment. I've had this treatment a few years ago and it wasnt painful but when I went yesterday to have cin3 treated I felt a really bad pain when the anasthetic went in the pain was bad they waited for one minute and proceeded with the treatment I felt them doing it I was in a lot of pain and felt I'll so I wont be having that done again should I need it done again

  • Hi. Thanks for posting.
I like you was also confused as to how you can go from nothing or just an ectropium of the cervix to CIN3 in between smears.
my results came back with no clear margins. Which means that hysterectomy as the only way to get it all. I had the operation within 16 weeks of diagnosis.
I am certainly convinced that the ectropium was where it started. I also had the merina coil in situ. The strings were often very short. So I do wonder it this cause the cervical problem.
have you had you results ?
