Bleeding and Hard lump in rectum. Colonoscopy soon

Hello i am lookinh for advice as cant find anything the same on the internet.

After i gave birth to my second child 1 year 4 months ago i had an episode 5 days after birth that i had to assist myself emptying my bowl. I noticed doing this i fed a big lump an it scared me. I left it thinking it was just due to having a baby and since then ive had to assist myself more, had itching, mucus, pain, urges to poo an nothing, constipation, struggle getting poo through my colon it feels. Never fully empty bowel. Bleeding that can come last for a week and flood the toilet then go to then suddenly come back. I also have had other issues since but list goes on forever. Point is the hard lump is still there. Seems harder an bigger an is around a golf ball side or egg. It is like just over half my index finger up into my rectum and is on a side closest to my pelvic bone(i think) it is scaring me now. I am awaiting an apt for a colonoscopy but at my check up prior he couldnt see any hemmheroids he said maybe one tiny one but i was too scared to mention the hard lump inside incase everyone has it an that ive only noticed cause i had to assist but i really dont think its normal. He didnt mention about it just said after looking that i need a colonoscopy.. i know this is muddled but im so stressed. Thanks in advance

  • Welcome to the forum CMarch96 although I'm sorry for how stressed you are at the moment.

Hopefully some of our members will be along soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you but do be sure to mention the lump at your appointment as with their medical training they will be able to let you know if this is any cause for concern.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi i know this was last year... but this sounds exactly like me now. Did you get any answers? I'm currently getting loads of tests done and my ferritin and platelets have come back low so waiting to have more tests again now and possibly a camera then!

  • Hello. I sadly had no answers i ended up with sigmoidoscopy not colonoscopy so only checked half of the colon. Im seeing someone again 9th dec after almost a year id given up. My issues are bad and im pregnant again so will be having a colonoscopy after baby is born which im very scared about

  • Hi thanks for the reply.

oh no this makes me so sad to hear I'm 24 a a mother of 2.. a 2 year old and 9 month old and well I'm pretty exhausted at the moment too so everything feels like a big struggle. I'm glad my gp is trying her best to move things forward and she's concerned why my plattlets and ferretin are low I'm going back to see them Tuesday so hopefully by then they'll have some sort of answer but like you I've had to start helping my self because it feel like something is blocking it from coming out and when i do i can feel some sort of lump just before the colon so I'm worried about that. I've also got PCOS and Endometriosis so I'm not sure if they're link and I've had a smear last week too so see what that says. I hope your pregnancy is going smoothly both mone were horrific!

  • Firstly dont take this the wrong way as im gutted ur going through this but im so so happy to hear it isnt just me that has to assist myself. Im 23 a mother of 2 (6year old and 2 year old) and now 30 weeks pregnant.. my 1st born was an awful labour i tore internal and external 2nd degree privates to anus. Not sure if thats had any effect? 2nd i was induced  i grazed a little but all was lovely(painful still tho) all my issues started after her as i now suffer from lichen sclerosus badly(live in itching an stinging agony) and insomnia as well as all the bowel issues. Ill try let u know how all this goes on 9th again but im not great using this im a facebook person aha x loads of luck!

  • Just wondered if either of you ever had any answers. I had two difficult deliveries and thought  i had a prolapse but have just discovered a large lump and am seriously anxious! Hope all is well with you both x

  • Hello. I STILL have no answers. I had a stool sample just before lock down and it was lightly abnormal. Been given a apt for August due to the lockdown they don't want me to be seen yet Need to redo the stool sample ASAP too but they didn't send me a sample pot just the sheet so need to find a way to get the sample pot an then find out how to get it to them. Life's crap at mo with it. I'm really struggling

  • I'm so sorry your struggling and thank you very much for getting back to me. It seems like a little problem to some but totally takes over your life! I assumed my issues were down to a rectocele. Asked the doctor 2 years ago when my youngest was 6 months and she sort of agreed so I didnt worry too much until I suddenly found this lump/ bump. Its a misery. Really hope you get some answers soon xx

  • Hi How you doing now? What did they say lump was? ️
