  • Hi

I am in the same boat, if been told mine is 8mm worried , been told to have a biopsy.  Any advice is welcome

  • Have any of you ladies heard back?

  • Hello everyone

I had my biopsy under general last Wednesday.

Surgeon told me he thought the womb was find but quote" the nabothian cysts are causing moderate concern, they did not behave as cancer when cut out and did not bleed as cancer would but I an concerned enough to send you for a CT scan which I will time with the result"

I rang today with fingers crossed but no result is back.

I was told I would get a phone call with result.

Cannot concentrate mind wonders all over the place.

I try to read things into what he said but he did not know.

    But advice please

I feel really bloated and sore inside from under bust down and uncomfortable my mind saying it's because it has spread .But I know they fill you with air for the procedure so worried about the pain and soreness.

I will update you when I know more

    Bless you all

  • Wow I'm not alone..  and not able to sleep. I had a hysteroscopy and curettage today. No conversation with the surgeon so no idea really what he thought.

I was referred following a scan and initial hysteroscopy which found 9mm thickening covered in an uneven/ragged surface. Am now waiting for the results. I'm 52 and very perimenoausal. I started taking progesterone for a couple of weeks to stop the bleeding as it was horrendous. But the progesterone seemed to cause insomnia anxiety etc so am glad I'm off it now!

I've been signed of work as my panic and anxiety has been awful so I possibly need to have another talk to the GP. Its the not knowing heat I'm dealing either which is terrifying! Its good to know we are not alone x

  • Dear ladies, I have had spotting for 5 days over 2 months (similar times to a period) so my gp referred me, I had a scan internal and external and all they could see was 5mm thickening.

I then had a small piece taken and have found out i need a hysteroscopy so they can see whats going on as the results showed psammoma in the serus but everything else was negative.

Can you tell me what happens when you have a hysteroscopy. I am not speaking to the consultant until 16 November and that is a telephone consultation. My GP has just given me the update.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you x

  • Hi Chey

I have had a biopsy it wasn't too bad at all just a bit of cramping.

    Hope it goes/went well.

    Sallie

  • So glad I found this page.

I am 39 years old and have had abnormal periods for about a year. For 6 months they have been worse (lasting 10-14 days and the last few days I have a massive gush of blood each day). Any way went to the gynaecologist 2 weeks ago and he was rather rude. Didn't listen to a word I had said and seemed to want it over with (NHS patient referred to private hospital). He did a TVS straight away and stated that he wasn't happy and used the word sinister (that worried me). He took a biopsy (most painful thing I have had) and that was it. He showed me the scan pictures and stated that my lining was abnormally large. After this was said there was No advice on what to do after, nothing. The appointment made me feel awful and he mannerism suggested that there was more to what he wasn't saying.

Just had to wait 2-3 weeks for results.

the letter I received from him last week was full of false information. He claimed that I was 'wanting' a hysterectomy (I told him I am petrified of the thought and have cancelled 2 due to PTSD), he claimed that I wasn't on any medication (false, I am on antidepressants, iron medication, pain killers for hips and back), he claimed he had reassured me (false, I was left on my own with no information or care sheet as to what to expect after a biopsy)

The letter stated that my lining is 16mm and my left ovary had an ovulation cyst (every woman has these during certain times of their cycles).

I was petrified for 10 days but since his letter, I do not feel there is something wrong. But I worry as 16mm is on the larger side.

    any advice would be fantastic

  • This thread came up as a result of a Google search - I know, worst thing I could do!

I've been told today that my endometrial thickness is 17mm and I'm being referred to gynaecology. Unfortunately my GP didn't explain what would be involved and I didn't realise it could be this serious, I feel so sick. Is this where they'll do the hysteroscopy?

ive been bleeding for 9 weeks now and sometimes it's very large clots that I can feel passing (aswell as seeing!)

What advice do you ladies have? I'm only 26 with a 10 month old and reading the thread has petrified me

  • Hi I completely understand you I'm 22 and had the last 2 years of being ill with my womb I have a 2 year old and 5 year old my womb lining is 19mm and I've been referred for scans and a hysteroscopy so I'm assuming you will too :) hope this helps

  • Hello Lou_Lou,

how did it go for you in the end?

I went for biopsy last week and mine is 7mm the doctor and nurses didn't say much.

there was bleeding during the biopsy but was told that was normal, I'm confused and scared.

bless you and all the lady's in this chat. x
