Adrenal mass

Can anyone help me, I've done lots of goggle searches but can't find many in my situation.

Background is a kidney infection with suspected kidney stones had a CT scan no kidney stones found but they did see a 1 to 2 cm adrenal mass that they said looks benign 

My scan was relooked at yesterday now I need to wait till Tuesday when the adrenal team can have another look that's worrying me

Also have left sided pain from ribs to hip left side same side as mass don't think I'd be as worried if I wasn't in pain, the pain they origanally thought was kidney stones 

If I had cancer that's spread would that have been  noticed on ct scan ? I'm just so worried about it all and starting to panic

    Hi there ...

    It's always scary , waiting for tests and results ... looking back the scariest time was at the start of the journey ... and trust me wer all know how it feels ... try not to Google .. it always gives worst case sinarios... and then the brain goes into overdrive... 

    Try to keep busy ... I'm afraid there's no easy way round the waiting .. we wait for everything .. tests , Drs appointments ... operation... and treatments ... so please try to hold on ... we've all been there .. and there's lots here who will help you through... Chrissie x

    Although it's up to the drs to say for sure I think they can tell a lot from the scan. I had a CT scan after a breast cancer diagnosis  and a lump on an adrenal gland was found.  My surgeon said straight away that it's benign and will be investigated further down the line when my cancer treatment is sorted out. I know each case is different but stay hopeful.

    Waiting is the biggest, and hardest, part of this journey we're on so try to distract yourself and just let it happen.

    Thankyou for your responses sometimes it's just good to talk 

    If you don't mind me asking how big was your adrenal mass? Literally can't find anyone else this has happened too xx

    To be honest I'm not sure. I don't think it's big but I found out about it during the conversation with my surgeon about having cancer and needing a mastectomy so, once she said it was benign, I concentrated on the breasr cancer discussion. 

    Sorry I'm not too much help there.

    Was wondering how they decide where to go with it like if yours is really small it's nothing just don't know how they definatly know how it's benign by just looking.

    Hi Lilly,

    Wondering how you've been getting on with this as im in a similar situation?

    Crazy how little adrenal masses are discussed. I was recently told i have an 18cm mass coming from the adrenal gland. Its unfortunately been said to be malignant and am awaiting a biopsy appointment. 

    I guess would be nice to share any thoughts and chat with you about the process you or anyone in this situation has been dealing with, hopefully its been going well.

    Hi lilly if it's only on adrenal if they take the gland out no worries you can live without them, mine haven't worked for over thirteen years now. I can give you what information I have if you want, best wishes.
