Hi everyone. I had my 3 session of chemotherapy 10 days ago. Took my 5th injection Filgrastim tonight. Wow! Was watching strictly come dancing finial and started to fill my lower back ache. Thought it might have something to do with the way I was laying in bed(cancer has left me with very little mobility. So in bed alot). The pain is now in my lower back and hips! What a pain! I've taken paracetamol. Oral morphine and codeine. Still waiting for them to kick in. Can't sleep and finding sitting up is helping a little. Never had a issue with the last two sessions so it's been a bit of a surprise this time round. Temperature is good. So will see how I feel in the morning. Will also ring my chemo team to see what else I can do. I was scared at first but remembered this is a possible side effect. That said. It doesn't help with the pain!
Hi there,
So sorry for you , i am round 4 and the injections are awful, the pain in my body makes me cry and so very weak, each chemo session i say i cant do anymore but you can...each bad day is a step closer to recovery is what i tell myself! You got this, take the painkillers and loritadine regularly and you will get through this.
Sending you lots of love and healing hugs.
Glad I came across this forum… I did my 8th injection today (last one after the first cycle of chemo) and having had only some mild aches in my thigh bones and knees throughout the week I now find myself gasping for air since the pain started in earnest this evening. Excruciating and very debilitating. Can’t move much at all for the pain in lower back and hips, shooting down my legs.
Chemo emergency line okayed me taking one-off Cocodamol, I’m praying it would work so I can get some sleep.
I see posts about antyhistamines helping with Filgrastim, would appreciate any tips on that.
Also, has anyone been prescribed such intense dosage of 8 daily shots?
