Breast lump with dull arm ache... is this normal?

Hi everyone,

This forum has been really helpful to me from finding a lump to having my appointment and needle biopsy. My question that i have that I can’t seem to find an answer to is, has anyone else experienced a horrible dull ache in the arm that is the same side as the lump? This has been happening more over the last two weeks and I also get the same dull ache in my lower leg on the same side. Also (probably has nothing to do with it) but a weak feeling and heavy feeling at the back/base of my head. I’m trying not to look too much into it but as its all the same side as the lump, I’m starting to panic. They said biopsy results should be 2-3 weeks. Will I find out sooner if it’s not good news? I’m 37 with 3 children and am finding it hard to act normal and not show I’m panicked about something x

  • Hi, I've found this thread while googling. It sounds like I've got the same problems as you but with shooting pains in my nipple. I've got an appointment at the breast clinic on 1st March and I feel like my life has slowed down. I'm permanently on the verge of tears and am constantly aware of the lumpy area in my breast.reading people's Comments on her has been reassuring though x

    Hi Lizzielou,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sure that you have already found out by reading some of the posts here, that the way you are feeling is perfectly normal. This is an anxious time and the unknown is always difficult to cope with.

I am glad to hear that your appointment is not too far away and you will soon know what is causing your problems. Irrespective of the outcome, you will feel better once you know. I sincerely hope that all turns out well for you next Tuesday.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thank you.

just reading the posts on here is calming. I'll keep the thread updated x

  • Hi Lizzie,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing similar symptoms to a lot of us on this particular thread.

As Jolamine has already said, it's a very scary and anxious time and it's at times like these that this forum really offered the support I know I needed and hopefully will be helpful for yourself also.

I want to say try not to think about it too much as the worrying doesn't help, however as a constant worrier myself (my parents nickname for me is "the what if child") I know that it is much easier said than done.

Hopefully you will also have a similar outcome and that it will be something quite normal like a cyst, but if it is anything else, the support from the lovely people on this forum will help you through the rough times.

Hope your appointment on the 1st goes okay and please do let us know how you get on.

  • Thank you

im single and live with my teenage son so have no one to share my worries with and I'm trying to hide how concerned I am from him

good luck to you too x

    Hi Lizzielou,

This must be very difficult for you. Do you have a friend that you can confide in? As I said before, we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • I am so pleased to have found these posts as they describe my own symptoms exactly and I found the forum by googling. I was due to have an excision biopsy last week but it has been delayed until 23/3 because I caught covid.

I think the waiting is the worst part but finding this community is really helpful

  • I agree that the waiting is torture. It must be awful for you to have your procedure delayed. I found the Adrienne Yoga videos on YouTube helped to calm me a little bit but we've all done what we have to to get through x

I had my appointment yesterday and couldn't sleep for the whole two weeks leading up to it. I got the all clear thankfully. The doctor said the lumps could've been caused by my hrt.

I agree that this seems like a lovely, supportive community. Good luck and keep us update x
