Breast lump and armpit lump- terrified! Please help!

I have 2 lumps in my breast. I got one biopsied and that was fibroadenoma. I didn’t get the other one biopsied. The other one is located the the bottom part of my breast. A week ago I noticed a lump in my armpit on that same side. It’s oval shaped, and it moves pretty easily, and doesn’t hurt. I was freaking out. A week goes by and now I feel multiple tiny lumps under my armpit. I’m terrified that these are my lymph nodes. I’m not sick, I don’t have an infection, so I’m terrified. Everything I see online leads to breast cancer. I’m only 19 years old but everything I see and hear about when it involves a breast lump and swollen lymph nodes is bad news. I haven’t heard any hopeful good news and I can’t stop crying. I have an appointment to see my breast surgeon on Tuesday.

    Hi Laurenevie,

Have you got an appointment with your doctor yet? It is always wise to get checked out when you have these symptoms, even if it is only to give yourself peace of mind.

It is unusual to have pain with breast cancer, so here's hoping that this is something less worrying.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jomamine,

Thank you so much for the nice words i really needed it. My private scan is at 3:10pm today and i received a call from my GP. He mentioned it could be something to do with my period which is due in 7-8 days but he will send a letter for a scan through NHS and they will most likely do the scan after my period is done. It doesnt really make sense in my head why he wants to wait until after my period is done, surely they could see on the scan if the matter is urgent straight away.

    I will keep you updated.

  • Hi Jully,

It's a horrible time but glad you don't have to wait for long. Let us know how you get on today.

It sounds like it could be related to hormones, mine was. But always good to take it seriously and get checked out.

    Sending virtual hugs xxx

    Hi Jully,

Thank you for your update. I expect that your GP knows that you were having a scan today and, probably thought that a scan before your period starts and an NHS one after it stops, would be the best way to see any changes.

Were you given any results today, or do you have to wait to see your GP befre you get them?

I am hoping and praying that all goes well for you. Don't forget to let us know.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine, thank you for checking on me.

I went to the scan and thankfully everything was all right. I only paid for the painful boob to be checked, unfortunately the cost for both breasts was higher (imagine that) and decided to go for the left one only and wait for my NHS appointment to check both of them. I didnt tell my GP about the private scan because he was not going to gove me the NHS referral. I have made this mistake before and i learnt from my mistakes. At least now i know things are ok and the pain and lump was due to hormonal changes- thank God. I explained i was going through a hormonal treatment in Nov for my IVf and the lady said most likely my hormones are messed up because of that. She told me to use ice and take ibuprofen. Also, she mentioned it was recommended to get my breasts scan checked every 1-2 years which i didnt know. I am 34 atm.

Also, i wanted to thank you all for your support today and to wish you all the best in the new year and tones of health. Thank you Jolamine and Sally. Also, i will make a small donation. You both and all ladies in here are wonderful! Hugs and kisses!!! ️

    Oh Jully,

This is great news! You must feel so relieved.

Are you still going to have your NHS check too? If you are going through IVF, this could well explain the changes you've experienced.

I sincerely hope that your IVF is successful and, that you can look forward to a long and happy life with your little one.

    Kind regards,
    Jolamine xx

  • Thanks a lot, Jolamine. Yes, i will go with NHS as well, i want both of my breasts to be checked up and i think i will start doing it every year.

Thank you so much for your wishes! We have been trying for over 2 years and we are doing ICSi at the moment. Its been an emotinal rollercoaster, lots of ups and downs and its been hard. Its a lot to process but it is what it is. Most important thing is to be haelthy and live life. I hope you are well too?

    Hi Jully,

I'm glad to hear that you will get your other breast checked out too.

I know how hard it is to go through IVF. My sister-in-law waited 12 years before she had a baby. They were at the stage of giving up when she discovered that she was expecting 'her little miracle'. Here's hoping that it's a little quicker for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hello All

i am replying to this post as I have pretty much the same issue at the moment.

so I have a some small lumps for a few months now. Thought I would get them checked.

i have like a pea size lump R axilla and 2 other smaller ones on the same side, one oval size small lump L axilla.

on L breast upper inner quadrant one small lump/cyst I can feel and R upper inner quadrant like 3 small lumps/cysts.

The ironic thing is I am a breast cancer MDT coordinator

seeing my GP for the first time about it on Monday 24/02/20, they'll probably refer me to one stop..

Dr google doesn't help when you check online

trying to be positive, but your mind dives you mad sometimes :(

    Hi Sahirask,

Welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry that you've had to join us. I sincerely hope that all goes well with the visit to your GP on Monday. The fact that you are a breast cancer MDT co-ordinator, probably doesn't do you any favours at this stage. Some ladies have naturally lumpy breasts, so here's hoping that this might be the case with you too.

Whatever you do, try to steer clear of Dr Google. Much of his information is out of date, innaccurate or poorly researched and aimed at the spectacular cases. It will certainly drive you up the walls if you continue with this.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
