Enlarged ovary & cyst

Hello,

I have been having pelvic / abdominal pain, bloating, indigestion and bleeding for about 3.5 months. 

My doctor sent me for an ultrasound last week and it shows that one of my ovaries is enlarged (18cc VS 4cc) , with a roughly 3cm cyst (so not large). Obviously the ultrasound can’t say anything more than that.

I’ve been sent for a CA-125 blood test and referred on to a gynaecologist. 

Does anyone have any experience of having an enlarged ovary? I’m not really sure what it means, and there is very little information online. 

Im 28, so not in a high risk age group for ovarian cancer but I can’t help but feel concerned.

    Although you are understandably going through a very stressful time, you seem to be in very good hands and even though it must be an anxious time for you at the moment,  it's great that they are doing all these tests to get to the bottom of what is causing these symptoms.

    It can be a bit overwhelming to try and understand all this medical terminology so feel free to give our nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and they will be able to explain to you in detail what it means to have an enlarged ovary.

    I thought I'd have a look on the forum to try and find other members we've had in the past who were worried about having an enlarged ovary and I found that [@Lolly71]‍ who posted on this thread a few months ago also mentioned having a cyst on her right ovary as well as an enlarged ovary so I hope she will see this post and reply and let you know how she is doing and what her investigations showed.

    It's hard not to worry while waiting for tests and results but it won't be long now before you get to the bottom of it all and it will make you feel better to know what you are dealing with and how to treat it.

    hiya, I’m going through the exact same thing at present, just waiting on results and further investigation. I’m also 28 and have similar symptoms, could I ask what the outcome of this was for you please? Thank you
