Lump in right side of neck

Hi all

 

I am new to this so any advice any of you could give me i would really appreciate ...

I have had a lump in my neck (right side)for the last few months thats got bigger extreme tiredness but that is also part of the condition i have so hard to diffreciate i just thought it would go away but it hasnt it has got bigger,  I thought right i had better go and get this checked out im a 41 year old single mum that had a stroke in 2000 and made a good recovery and work full time but also got diagnosed with Lupus which i try to manage best way i can.

I went on Monday to the GP and he seemed a bit mithered told me to try not to worry but because of the condition i have he will refer me as it over 4 cm along with the symptoms i have..  I got a call from the hospital on weds for me to go at 9 am next weds the consultant i am seeing is head and neck cancer specialist at the ENT dept.

For the first time now i am mithered..  has anyone else been in this situation.

What happens from here is it all delt with pretty quickly?? ANY advice will be truly greatfuly appreciated.

    Hi Fiona,

    Thank you. Went yesterday had a camera up through my nose they have found some other smaller ones. So i am in for a scan and biopsy on Tuesday at 2 so hopefully know more then.

    They were really nice and made me feel comfortable although the camera wasnt very pleasent.

    The support on here is amazing.

    Morning Amanda,

    I hated the camera bit, I'm glad your getting a biopsy done quickly.  Did they find smaller ones in nose or neck.  My friend had nodules in neck and had them removed.  She had 1 big one and 2 little ones (non cancerous) she was advised to have them remove because they were growing.

    Morning Fiona,

    I found that a bit of a struggle had to talk and make all these noises but managed it. im in at 2 pm on tuesday for the scan and biopsy they do it at the same time which i didnt know but i guess a good thing.. They found them in the neck. There is the large one in my neck which is how all this started and they found 5 other ones. 

    Lets see what Tuesday brings now.

    I was with my friend when they scanned and did the biopsy at the same time.  It was over within 10 minutes.  She said it was sore but not painful.   Hers was discovered wen she had reoccurring acid reflux.

    Tuesday will be here before you no it.  Let me know how you get on and I'm thinking of you

    My wife have a similar lump at the right side down the neck, which is growing and firm. Can you please let me know what happened with your diagnose regarding this.

    Hi there my name is emma a few days ago i had a lump on my neck and i had a blood test for thyroid and everything else and they came back as normal now i have been referred to ETN ears throat and neck i am really worried not sure what it is my lump is about 1cm
