Breast Cancer , very scared waiting for referral

Hi Everyone,

I am very new to this and also very scared. I have noticed on the lower side of my left breast there are 2 patches where it looks like my breast is being pulled inwards. If i stand with my arm above my head it is very noticable and it never used to look like this. My nipple on this side also leaks at times and quiet often feels sticky. I got my husband to have a look to check i wasnt imagining it and he spotted it straight away.

I went to the doctors yesterday and she also spotted it straight away. She has refrered me to the breast clinic on the 2 week wait system and all she could say was try not to worry but she doesnt have xray vision which i understand.

I am so scared has anyone else had this kind of systems and it urned ot to all be fine.

    Hi Lisa,

I am so sorry to hear that you are still unsure about your discharge.  By the sound of things your consultant is leaving no stone unturned which has to be good news for you.

I haven't had just milk ducts removed. Mine was a double mastectomy. I found that a lot easier than I expected, so expect that removal of some milk ducts should be a breeze..

Have you got a date for your surgery yet? I hope that it all goes well.

    Kind Regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • So happy I found someone going through the same thing, I am 14 and am also waiting for an urgent referal on the two week plan. I went to the doctors with bloody discharge and feeling a small lump. I'm so young the doctor needs to check if the breast clinic will accept me. I know its scary but know there are other people going through the same thing who you can talk to. Please keep updating us, hopefully getting things out in the open will help you, and its also reassuring for the rest of us to know we have company. I hope everything is normal but of not know you have loads of support xx

    Hi Lara,

    Welcome to the forum.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having this bother and sincerely hope that you will be accepted by the breast clinic as you sound such a mature young lady.

Sadly, we have heard nothing from Lisa since June, but here's hoping that she reads your post and replies to you. If not, rest assured that there are many other people going through the same thing, who will happily talk to you.

Do please let us know whether or not you get an appointment with the breast clinic and, if so, when.

In the meanwhile, we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi, turns out it's just a cist, I have to have a meeting with the consultant in case it has to be drained, I hope it won't but at least I'm all clear. Xx

    Hi Lara,

Thank you for getting back to us.

It seems strange to get excited about having a cyst, but this is by far the better alternative to the diagnosis. I am so glad for you. Do you have a date to see the consultant yet?

If you have to have it drained, this is a simple and straightforward procedure, so don't let yourself worry about it.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
