Lower left abdominal/side/back pain

Starting in January I’ve had this pain in my lower left side that radiates around my back and down my front pelvic area. I’ve had a transvaginal ultrasound showed nothing, blood and urine are clear, I have irregular very heavy with a lot of clotting menstruation. A few weeks ago I had laparoscopy looking for endometriosis nothing. My dr noted I have a very deep pelvis which is odd I’m only 5’1. I’ve had an endometrial biopsy come back clear. This pain was so intense in January I was unable to walk I missed over a months worth of work. When I massage my back where it hurts there is a hard “mass” I have no idea what it could be. The pain feels as if I’m walking around with a 10 ft sword protruding from my body and hitting it on everything. My obgyn is setting me under with a gastroenterologist we want to exhaust all other possibilities before removing my uterus and tubes hoping that will store the pain. I do have constipation recently started having mucous pass with my bowel movements when I’m able to pass them. Also, I started having pretty intense rectal pain during bowel movements even though they are seemingly soft.

Has anyone else experienced this?

  • thank you for replying!

The waiting game is the horrible part as your mind goes into overdrive especially when you know your body isn’t right.

Thank you for replying I hope you feel much better soon xx

  • I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry! I literally stressed so much I am so sure now that it made my pains etc worse! they have booked you in for a colonoscopy and they give most results there and then. I waisted 6 weeks of my life stressing! For what now feels like nothing!

Go go and treat yourself and take your mind of it

    Xx

  • Hey

how did you get on with your scan results please? Hope you’re well.

I’m in a similar situation to you and just looking for some advice xx

  • To bring you up to date. I now know they took the MRI scan of pelvis and liver because the the biopsy of the fibroid showed womb cancer. Fortunately it is contained in an area and has not spread stage 1 ..1a. Howerver I need a total hysterectomy hopefully by keyhole surgery but have been warned it might turn to something different if there are difficulties. They will be fitting a Mirena.

But I have high blood pressure and they want to avoid a stroke and have just found out that there is a heart beat and pulse irregularity. Don’t feel very well at the moment but everything compounds to make things difficult at times. Just taking each day as it comes and trying to concentrate on other stuff. The Dr in charge is very on the ball and comes across as taking all your well being into account not just one aspect.

  • I am getting very similar symptoms. Pain in lower left abdomen but not intense and back pain and the constipation. I’ve also got an ultrasound booked for next week. I’m so scared it’s something serious. Did you find out what yours was? I hope you are ok

  • Hi I've gallstones why I get pain in my right side but I've started to get symptoms off pain in my left sides and radiates up to my back from lower down seeing gp today has utra sound scans but nothing else

  • Hi i have same symtoms for over 13 years sever flare ups where pain so bad i cant walk, this ones been going on for weeks, found interesting what you said about food poising as i had helicobacter pylori, have you ever tryed course of high dose probiotics, this does not cure it but does help to restore health gut this helps with bowel symptoms bloating and lower back and abdominal pain.

  • Hi i had similar pain that sent to A&E twice followed by CT scan and MR but the pain persisted until i moved my bowls and a hard stone like feases drop as i pressed hard on that left lower abdomine . So this could be it because that pain could not be felt by touching my front or back but when sitting or trying to stand and it kind of relieves me when standing erect.

  • I have a pain on my left side and back for about 3 weeks now it hard to explain just under my ribs

  • Hi,

I was diagnosed with helicobacter but the tests were done wrong within a week of being on antibiotics giving negative results. When I asked for the test to be redone it came back negative that I don't have it. Do not trust gp about helicobactor as they do not do tests properly due to shortage of time. I have been on a probiotic diet and it did not help. Mine is like a hernia with my intestines being strangled in notes which stops any stool coming through and in turn causes toxins back in your system. I can't walk or do any activities  including housework, hoovering and ironing. Any movement at all and I am doubled in pain having to rush to toilet as your body uses an emergency system and empties everything. I have it confirmed There is a lump at top of my leg below where your intestines are but they still just give you laxitives. I have no life at all so went to accupuncture and they now have very dizzy all the time being sick. Now worse off as I cannot eat at all or move due to dizzyness or pain in intestines.
