Hello sfrank,
I'm sorry to see you've not received any replies to your post yet. I'm tagging [@Kaz6655] as she joined Cancer Chat last month and, if I remember rightly, was undergoing similar tests for a kidney mass. I know that [@JoyfulofJourney] has experience of renal cancer, so they may well be along soon to offer some thoughts.
I hope that the appointment with the urologist goes well; in the meantime, we're here to talk if you need to. We also have a brilliant team of cancer information nurses, should you have any questions. You can reach them on the freephone helpline 0808 800 4040.
Best wishes,
Helen

Hi yes I had a 3cm mass on my kidney after all the tests I was one of the lucky ones as it was due to an underdeveloped kidney and not cancer. I do hope every thing goes well for you. I had an ultrascan which is the first thing that showed up the mass then I had a ct scan but unfortunately I went in to anaphylactic shock turned out I am allergic to the dye so I was then sent for an MRI scan and told that it wasn’t cancer after all. Originally the consultant had told me straight out that I had renal cancer so I was so relieved when I was told the consultant was incorrect but I had done research on renal cancer and it showed an excellent rate of getting better.
