Ct scan on neck today

Hi everyone, I had a ct scan on my neck today, I attended my own doctors a few weeks ago complaining of a persistent cough that I couldn't shift, my GP referred me to an ENT doctor at the hospital, when I was there the ENT doctor put a camera up my nose and down my throat, next thing I know he's referring me for an urgent ct scan and an ultrasound fn biopsy (if necessary) I had the ct today and I'm back next Tuesday for the ultrasound, and then back to the ENT doctor for all the results on August 25th. It's all now starting to feel real and I'm panicking that all these tests are happening so quick. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Hi Killearn.

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It is perfectly normal to get rushed through a barrage of tests and then treatment before you have time to think. This is because the sooner you catch Cancer, the better the outcome tends to be.

I hope that you get favourable results on 25th.

Please keep in touch and let us know the results. There is always someone here to talk to if you need to. Waiting for results is a very stressful time.

    Kind regards,
    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine

Thank you so much for your message. I was back at the hospital yesterday for an ultrasound on my neck, thankfully there was no need for a biopsy to be performed so I'm hopeful that is a good sign. I will keep you updated. Hope all is well with you, and once again thank you so much for your message it really is much appreciated.

    Hi Killearn,

No problem at all. Fortunately, it won't be long until next Tuesday, when you should get your results. Like you, I am also hoping that the fact that they didn't take a biopsy might be good news.

Try to distract yourself by keeping busy over the weekend. This should help the time to pass a little quicker.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hey I know this was a while ago. But what happened? I'm in the exact same situation and looking for guidance!

    Hi Abbey,

Welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry for the reason that you'e joined us. I'm afraid that I never heard from Killearn after 16th August, so don't know what the outcome was.

Have you had any tests or results yet? I know just what a scary time it is waiting for these. In the early stages, you have so much going on and so many unknowns, that it is just mind boggling.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
