Cervical cancer

I really could use some advice, I'm feeling so very alone and don't know where to turn.

  • Hi

yes I had a cervical smear done in December and all was clear. I also had a ultrasound done and they found a polyp so I am waiting to have that removed. Go get checked out. It's probably nothing major but best to check!

  • Oh that's amazing news I'm so happy for you! Thank you so much for responding xxx

  • Hi Ladies, I hope you're all doing well,

I know some posts are a little old but I just wanted to see how you all are?

I had some irregular bleeding so have been to my doctor today who has done an urgent referral to the colposcopy clinic. She said she could see something on my cervix she hopes is erosion but as I have a bladder prolapse (having a baby!) which due to COVID waiting times hasn't had a chance to be seen by the specialists made it hard for her to see so she wants a second opinion.

I'm 33, had irregular smears about 7 years ago with 6 monthly checks which required no treatment and put back into 3 yearly screening which was fine 2.5 years ago but now I'm worried. I seem to have normal to a little more than normal

clear discharge as times but this bleeding started for the first time this month. I've not been intimate with anyone in a loooong time! So I wouldn't know if I would suffer from bleeding after sex.

im awaiting results to see if I have inherited the brca2 gene which from what I've read does increase the chance of cervical cancer so I'm now completely terrified.

  • Hiya,

oh I was in the same boat- just a few months ago, it started with bleeding after intercourse, then the odd spotting, I also was due for my next smear this coming Jan. and had one abnormal years ago,

I was finally given an appointment to my Gp so she could look at my cervix, she said it looked like cervical erosion. I was so relived and was referred to the gyno at my local hospital

2 weeks ago I arrived to my app expecting to have the erosion taken away, but as I was having my internal he said he could see a fibroid on my cervix and took a biopsy, I was so worried. As I didn't expect that- anyway I got home cried and then decided I'm not going to be a nervous wreck this 2 weeks, I had my results the other day and it's just a fibroid, THANK GOD!!

most irregular bleeding is caused by polyps/fibroids and cervical erosion, I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry, if she's sent your referral as urgent you should be seen within 2 weeks,

let me know how you get on xoxo

  • Hi all,

Sorry to post in an old thread, but I'm new to the site and therefore not too sure how things work. I am looking for some advice.

I'm 29 years old. I went for my routine smear test in June (was only delayed by three months due to Covid).

The results showed severe dyskaryosis, so I went for a colposcopy, where they took a biopsy. The results showed abnormal cells at grade 1, 2 and 3. A month ago, I went for treatment to remove these cells- I had the laser therapy.

Since this treatment, I have had constant bleeding- it varies between light and heavy, but it is continuous. I also visited A&E due to constant watery discharge (felt like I was wetting myself!) that has a foul, offensive odour. A round of antibiotics seemed to clear this up, but I am still bleeding, along with fatigue and pelvic pain. I called the hospital for my results, but they still don't have them back. They are extremely busy due to Covid-19 etc. I am just waiting to hear from them to see what they have to say.

I think that I have done the silly thing by reading lots of stories online and scaring myself. But I can't help but feel quite scared.

Does anyone have any advice, or a story similar to mine? Any responses will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Michaela

  • Hi Michaela

Just wondering how you got on with your biopsy results?

I'm just waiting for my colposcopy which is booked for end November after smear showed abnormal cells and High risk HPV. I have all the symptoms you mentioned along with nausea, relux and hip/back pain and must admit to being very concerned now.

    Really hoping your ok though??

    All the best

    Jo

  • Hi Tash.

I know this Is an old post so you may not reply. I was wondering how you got on.

I've also got some of the symptoms you mention especially the pain in the knee. I recently took myself to the GP for bleeding after intercourse. I also have right side pelvic pain . The doctor carried out some test including the CA125 which is raised so I've been referred to gyno as urgently (2weeks). I've a phone consultation on thursday then will see someone within days after.

I've not mentioned the knee pain to GP because I didn't know if its connected.

    Hope your well

    Lind

  • Hi, I know your post has been quite a long time ago, I am looking for some advice, from yourself or anyone else. I have had a couple of missed periods over the last 8months, o get some lower back pain on and off and some constipation on and off with some red spots sometimes. I've recently had a smear and it came back as high risk HPV and abnormal cells. The waiting time for an appointment is 20weeks for a colposcopy just now. I am just so extremely worried about this. I already have health anxiety.

Any advice would be gratefully received

  • Hi everyone! I know this post is from some time ago but i would really appreciate if someone can advice me as ive been worried sick for months!

So it all started with me having an abortion, ive been adviced not to have sex with my partner for 2 weeks but ended up having sex 4 days after. Sraight after that i started getting strong craping under my tummy, the pain hasent gone away since! the next day i had large clots come out of me. My discharge was bloody sometimes or watery its not bloody now but still watery.!sometimes it looks like ive peed my self! I also have a lot of rubling in tummy all the time, pain in my lower back lots of spotting with periods and different color period to what it used to besometimes very light pink and sometimes black. ive noticed a change in my urine color, it always used to be  normal yellow and now its very pale yellow sometimes even clear like water color. I ve had so much antibiotics trough out that time doctors thinking it could be infection. Then i had 3 transvaginal ultrasound because they found a simple cyst on one of my ovaries so they had to monitor because it was not going away and its still there now, but they said its nothing to worry about. I  had kidney ultrasound which didn't show nothing as well. The doctor told me she doest think it's nothing major and that ill be referred to gynaecologist but it will take 4 months which is ridiculous! I've also had a stool test that showed infection which i took antibiotics for. Also when i need to go the big toilet i have to asap as i cant hold it like i used to.I suffer with major anxiety and depression and the past few months is been like a living hell for me! Sorry for the long post and would really appreciate any advice! Thank you so much

  • Hi Lady,

I am sorry I haven't responded before this but I've just seen your post. Try not to worry too much; go to your appointments and find out what's causing your issues. Having to wait so long is unfortunate but knowing is so much better than worrying! When we are stressed, our bodies can manufacture all sorts of "symptoms". Abnormal cells need to be investigated, removed and sometimes more treatment is necessary(from my experience, I can't give medical advice). But, even serious issues aren't always insrumountable and we are stronger than we know. You got this!

Make sure to keep me posted on how you are doing.

    Laura xx
