  • hi kay,

how awful for you!!!! nobody can really diagnose you on here but it's a good thing your blood tests have come back clear!!!

lymph nodes can swell for all sorts of reasons and mostly they swell due to infection and settle down after a while... it's hard not to worry but try not to...

keep us informed on here, there are always people to help support you!!!

    god bless x

  • Thank you so very much for your positive words means a lot. I will keep you updated. X
  • Hi Kay and welcome to the forum

lumps and bumps in the body can be many things and most disappear or are easily treated, i's only on the rare occasion that it's something that knocks us back a bit.

It's obviously something of concern to you and the only way you will get acceptance or closure on this is to go make an appointment with you gp

testing on even the simplest of lumps takes time, so don't expect an exact answer on you first appointment, it may be that you get referred to your local hospital which may involve have an ultra sound and if not conclusive a biopsy

none of these tests mean anything it's just a process

stay off of the internet you will not find answers on google, you will just convince yourself you have two weeks to live.

I know it's easy for me to say, but it's easy to make yourself very ill worrying about it, try to distract yourself ... I'm sure your two year old will do most of that

im now 2.5 years post treatment so I have experience of the worry you are going through and there are many of us on here that live to tell our tale and help others through this initial phase of worrying and testing ..... fortunately in most cases nothing comes of it, they go from this site and lead happy lives

shout if you have any questions

  • Thank you so much for the positive words. Finding it very difficult not to worry! As you say The internet has put the fear into me. My anxiety levels are through the roof. I just feel so frightened and finding it hard to focus on daily tasks. I do really appreciate all your words. Thanks again xxxx

  • If its any consolation, you are not alone and I totally understand what your'e going through. I also have a supraclavicular mass (and other symptoms) and have a one year old. I am absolutely sick with worry and will find out more next week at my appointment with haematology. All i can think about it my daughter and what would happen if I couldn't be there for her. I really hope you get the all clear!

  • Dear Chop and Kay

    These feelings are perfectly normal

I was diagnosed with a secondary tumour on Monday 12:35 on 28th april, then went through a week of explorities and ct scans to find the primary .... on that Friday morning i was told there was no primary, but needed a PET CT scan for further investigation

In that week my wife and i went through hell, to the extent that we were even planning the songs for my funeral .....

At the time these moments were the worst, but I am fortunate to look back on them with experience of going through the whole process and now I am 2.5 years post treatment

The only good advice i can give you is try and keep distracted ... with young children thats a given i suppose

Shout whenever you want we are here to help you through this part of the process

  • I have a mass on left rear of neck.

I saw consultant a week ago that was OK and I've got ultrasound  Thursday lunchtime and see consultant again in 3 weeks.

    Hasn't your gp done a 14day referral

  • My close friend had a biopsy and scan of a lump on her neck that was increasing in size. It came back benign and nothing to worry about whatsoever. It's very reassuring your bloods came back ok did they do a complete blood count?
