Lumps in neck and groin

Hey, I thought I'd post on here as opposed to trawling through google self diagnosing myself!

So I've had a lump in my groin for about 18 months and have seen my GP twice re this. I was advised to return if it gets to the size of a 'hazelnut'!!

I've also had a lump on the right side of my neck in between my collarbone and ear. The lump is painless and moves slightly when pressed. It has been there for a few months and growing, but slowly.

Also since December I've been having night sweats. Some nights are worse than others and it isn't every night but very unpleasant when it it does happen.

putting all this together is a little alarming. I know I can't get a diagnosis on here but just wondering whether anyone has had similar symptoms...

Thanks in advance,

Emma

  • hey emma,

i'm glad that your dr is sending you for these blood tests to see what the problem is... at least the ball is rolling now and hopefully it won't be anything serious...

keeping you in my thoughts please let us know how you get on...

    god bless

  • Hi guys,

So my blood results came back and they were 'satisfactory'.  I was wondering whether anyone has been in a similar situation.  I now have two lumps on the side of my right neck and two smaller lumps on the left side by my collarbone.  I do have an achy neck however this may be due to tension...

I still have nightweats (but not every night) and feelings of fatigue but again this could be due to worrying!  I don't want to keep pestering the doctors but I was wondering whether if its anything sinister it would get picked up on the blood tests.

    Thanks in advance,

  • hi Emma,

Thank you for keeping us informed during this stressful time. I am very happy that the blood tests came back satisfactory, that's great news!!! However you still have these lumps that so far you have no explanation for, and have not yet been given any explantion. Not only this you still have nightsweats and feeling of fatigue. Please don't look at it as "pestering" doctors, it's thier job. Do you have any more tests coming up? if not I would raise your concerns that although you are happy about the blood test results you are still worried about why these lumps have appeared. Normally a biopsy of a lump will be done to determine if it's something sinister, and maybe some scans.

    Please keep us informed...

    God Bless x

  • My blood tests were fine also. Got my fna tomorrow, and MRI 6th April, it's taken months and lots of hassling the doctors to get to here. Just keep insisting they do more tests. X

  • Hi Antoni, Many thanks for your response. I have an app to see the GP on Friday morning where I will ask her for an explanation etc and maybe more test. I will keep you posted!! Thanks again, Emma x
  • Hi leanne,

    many thanks for your response.

Wishing you all the best with your app tomorrow, let us know how you get on x

  • Hi peeps,

So I saw another GP yesterday and she confirmed that I do have swollen lymph nodes in my neck and collarbone (and one in my groin) and she even found some more...however...because my blood results did not show any abnormalities in my white blood cells and because my swollen lymph nodes are moveable when they are pressed she would rather wait for another month and if no change then send me for a scan. She's even aware of all the other symptoms! Has anyone else had this feedback? It's becoming a little frustrating now.

    many thanks

  • Hi Emma I have identical to you lump in groin been told is nothing serious and lump in neck exact same place as you been gp for 3rd time and am getting scan on neck. I also havr the night sweats but as im 45 everyone has said it's the menopause. I hopefully should have an answer soon and I would insist on getting second opinion. I hope you do Lorraine
  • Hi Emma,

May I ask if your GP has scheduled you to get scans? And how are you now?

  • Hey,

Did you ever find out what they was? How did the scan go? I'm in the same position.
