Could this be Bowel / Stomach Cancer

Hi all

In about December my stomach started playing up, i had one day of diarrhoea that did go quickly.  Anyways since then all day every day my stomach has been making loud and i mean loud gurgling / rumbling noises.  Everyone around me can hear them and its worse after i have eaten but they are there all the time.

Before Christmas i did go and see a GP (not mine as he was on Holiday) she was very dismissive and although she did a physical check of my stomach bascially sent me on my way and made me feel like i had waisted her time.

So on to today..the noises are still there louder than ever and show no sign of going away.  I am going to make an appointment with my GP but waiting times are about a week, I am 41 year old male by the way.

Could this be a sign i have bowel / Stomach Cancer? Dr google is freaking me out and i am conviced i now have that.

Thanks for any input

Chris

  • Hi Charlotteangel, did you get an answer ?
Its such an annoying problem,  im getting alot of indigestion now as well.

  • Hello,

ive been to the doctors and they have told me it's likely a bad case of IBS flare up. I've never had this in the past that I've know of so strange that's it only showing symptoms now. I've had a week and a bit on buscopan and I must say it's easing some of the symptoms. Still got the feeling of something not being right in my left hand side though.
what about you? Have you been to see a doctor yet?

  • Thanks for your reply.

I have had numerous blood tests and all are ok.
I had an ultrasound recently and it was also all fine.
Im  still having such an uncomfortable feeling inthe left of my stomach, strange that it seems to be worse some days than others.

Im really trying to look after my self now days.
I am taking Kefir,  Green Smoothies and have gone Vegan, been doing all this for the last month, and can honesly say i feel no better :(.

  • Hi DeanMarine

I had an ultrasound, gastroscopy, blood tests, faecal tests, and the results were all good. Only it turned out a few months later that I had bowel cancer.

If you're concerned, push for a CT scan and if not forthcoming, consider having it done privately to put your mind at ease.

    Best wishes,

    Luke

  • HI LuckyLuke, thanks for your reply.

    What were your symptons?

Did you have pressure on the left side of your stomach?

    Regards,

    Dean

  • I had pain just above and to the side of the belly button. The pain only lasted a week or so (especially at night when sleeping on my side).

6 months later and I developed several anaemia. It was only then that I had the CT scan and was diagnosed.

  • Thanks ,

you mean the side of your belly button?

    which side?

    Hope your ok now?

    regards,

  • As I look down, it was on the right side.

I had my operation 13 months ago and have had 8 rounds of chemotherapy. Waiting for my next CT scan in December to see how I'm getting on.

  • I'll be praying for you full recovery.

Thanks for taking the time to post these replies.

    regards,

  • I know it's 3 months since the last posting.. I've just read this thread.  Hope everyone's OK.

I had been fine, then the other day had bad pain and need to go to the toilet. (around 4pm)I went (wasn't diarrhea) then after that, still had niggles in stomach each time I went to the toilet some bright red blood with some very small clots. The following morning I went to A&E, had rectal exam and doctor felt my stomach also blood tests. Because of my age, 60, I've been referred for sigmoidoscopy within 2 weeks. I have a feeling of wind pain in my stomach and lots of gurgling. Trying to stay positive, but did the dreaded thing and googled.
