Why is the waiting and feeling in limbo so hard??? I can’t focus, can’t concentrate am a total grump and get operated by the slightest thing!
I’m dealing with multiple issues at the min so here goes cause I just need to vent before I bloody lose it…
Had irregular heavy bleeding etc for last few months and went to see gynaecologist who sent me for an ultrasound (external and transvaginal). Got the results 22 Oct and was told I have multiple fibroids which isn’t of much concern but I have 3cm fallopian tube (they’re usually 0.5cm) filled with fluid, shadows & debris on left and they couldn’t visualise left ovary. I’m now scheduled for surgery to remove on Monday 9 Nov and potentially ovary depending what they see when they get in there. Was told the presentation in US and my symptoms (not listed all) can be sign of early cancer so they want to whip it out and send for pathology.
Q mini meltdown!
One of my symptoms was also persistent localised breast pain and I lost my mum to breast cancer after she was diagnosed at 46 (I’m 45) so I was referred to breast surgeon who I saw after the news about my surgery. He had a feel said all looked fine but to give me peace of mind he’d get me a mammogram but nothing else would be required… here’s a leaflet on breast pain and wearing the right bra, pulling chest muscles etc. I had mammogram same day got changed out of my gown then was called in again to have a 3D mammogram just on right breast (the one in pain). Shall I get dressed I say? No you best not and I was then called in for an ultrasound then booked in for an MRI which I had yesterday (3 Nov). Had a call from hospital earlier to say there is a 26mm lesion with significant enhancement which corresponds with my mammogram results so I need a stereotactic biopsy.
Q about to blow!
They wanted to book it in for next Tuesday 10 but wait I say I already have surgery for a different issue on 9th arrrr!! So I’m now having biopsy on 17 Nov when I should’ve recovered from surgery. Better but more waiting both potentially cancer.
i mean WTAF… how do people get through this waiting without turning to drink… which I can’t anyway until after my surgery FFS!!
Please tell me I’m not alone that the “waiting room” is ***!
Last year I went through a sarcoma referral and biopsy results took 7 weeks but thankfully turned out to be a very rare benign granular cell tumour in my arm… I mean can I never go for a test and get the immediate all clear? Let’s just hope these journeys end the sane… but with everything happening at once and juggling mammograms between pre-ops at different hospitals it’s been a lot!
Sorry for the rant… thanks for listening if you managed to get to the end of my ramble and good luck to everyone whatever reason you’re here in this forum xxx
