Lymph nodes in awkward place

Hi I'm 57 fell down the stairs at home in June had a ct scan found some swollen lymph nodes in an area that's really awkward to get to.

Biopsy is out of the question so having a bone marrow biopsy and pet scan have no symptoms what so all haven't felt unwell so very shocked had a ct scan in August the mass hasn't grown still the same just a shock to me my partner of 20 years had cancer in his tonsils 10 years later it came back in his mouth he had stage 4 oral cancer lasted 6 months and died in 2021 so I hear cancer and I think that's it going to die any advice would be appreciated

  • Hi Julie and welcome to the Cancer Chat forum.

I'm really sorry to hear about the fall you had back in June and the lymph nodes that were found on your CT scan.

It's always scary when unexpected issues are found, especially when you're feeling well and experienced no symptoms, but fingers crossed the results of the bone marrow biopsy and PET scan will show that these lymph nodes are not a sign of anything sinister.

I hope some of our members will be along soon to offer their support and advice but if it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040. The phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to support you and answer any other questions you may have at this time.

I hope this guide we have on how to cope with waiting for news will help as well.

If you're feeling up to it, do let us know how things go Julie. We'll be thinking of you and hope everything will turn out o.k.

    Kind regards,
