Hello All,

I am here because i have found myself spiralling over the last few weeks and dont know where else to go. I am 36 female and have been experiencing some bowel cancer related symptoms.  I have had some bleeding in the past after a bowel movement but the blood was only ever on the toilet paper. Like alot of us, i put it down to other things and put it to the back of my mind. It only ever happened ''now and again''. However, a few weeks back, i noticed an enormous amount of bright red blood in the toilet bowl and i was instantly terrified. Fast forward to today, i have had my gp call me about some blood tests ive had done (all normal) and my FIT test results. My doctor has referred my urgently for a colonoscopy and said my result from the FIT test came back at 74. Ive read lots of posts of people that have had readings into the hundreds and nothing sinister has been detected but i cannot shake the fear that cancer is going to be found. I do suffer with health anxiety but i have had this well under control for this last year or two but this has put me into a very dark place. I guess im looking for similar experiences and the outcome has been positive or some words of reassurance. I have an 8 year old daughter and im so so frightened. Thank you for making it this far x
