Nipple pain

Just been drs , for nipple pain over a week and I think it happens every month before period. But this month has been so painful . Drs felt breast said she couldn’t feel any lumps  I have extra breast tissue in armpit and that feels achy as well.  feels like it’s warm inside of  you get what I mean?  On examination the drs could see anything that was a cause for concern but still I’m anxious bees send for an ultrasound to check.

  • Hi sunnydy,

You've done the right thing in going to the doctor's for nipple pain - it's always good to flag these things and it's reassuring that the doctor felt your breast and said she couldn't feel any lumps or any cause for concern. It's normal to be anxious and I hope that you will get to have the ultrasound soon just for peace of mind. While you are waiting for definite answers, try if you can to resist the temptation to look things up online as this only makes you feel worse without providing any reliable answers and I would suggest you have a read of our helpful tips on how to cope while waiting for important news.

If you still feel worried, it might also be worth getting a second opinion just for peace of mind and speaking to a different doctor. Make sure you mention all the things you have listed here which you are anxious about including the extra breast tissue in your armpit and the achiness and warm feeling you are experiencing there.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have experienced something similar and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you. Keeping everything crossed for you that this pain goes away soon and that it is confirmed that it is nothing of concern.
