I have a small 3mm lesion on my right arm. Raised pink/red and shiny around the edge and a scab in the middle. Been there for around 4 months some times bleeds and is painful when touched. I went to my gp who sent a referral and have since been to have clinical photos taken. I have revived a text message to say that an appointment has been made to have a minor operation under local anaesthetic. I’m assuming they will remove the lesion at the appointment. Following this what would normally be the process? Do they send off to a lab? Or do I just get it removed and that’s the end of it? I’m slightly concerned that nothing has been mentioned to me other than a text message and I’ve since been on the nhs app to see I have the appointment in a weeks time.
