? Paget’s disease

looking for any advice or to hear people’s experiences.. I have had an intermittent problem with my left nipple for 2 and a half years. Red, raw, wet or crusting.. It eases off with different creams that I have tried (steroid, fungal and antibiotic). At the start of of this I went to the GP about this and a lump at the same time so I was referred to the breast cancer clinic and had both breasts ultrasounded (but this was because of the lump). I thought since this was ok i didn’t need to worry and just try alternate creams.. recently most of my breast became red and itchy sort of rashy/ bumpy which made me start researching more and finding everything is pointing towards Paget’s disease.. I had my gp app today and urgent referral to the breast cancer clinic again but I’m terrified.. especially that’s it’s been so long since initial symptoms..

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing concerns about your breast health. It's good to know that you've recently been to see your GP after a rash developed across your breast and that they have referred you back to the breast clinic.

It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about what may have been causing these symptoms, and we know that many people turn to the internet looking for answers at times like this. What we also know is that very often people don't find an answer to their circumstances but instead are left with more questions and worries. We have some advice and tips about how to cope while waiting for news that may be useful to you but I also wonder if you might find it helpful to chat with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your appointment and the specialist will be able to give you some reassurance when you see them. Keep in touch Lisarx and let us know how you get on. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
