Hello. I am new to this forum and whilst I shouldn't be counting my chickens until they have [all] hatched, I am almost certain that I have already seen quite a few of them running around each time I have ventured out of my bedroom and gone downstairs albeit briefly! Surprising really considering I have three cats although I guess there more chickens running around than the ones who have managed to survive the jaws & claws of my feline family.
Before I write anymore, I should warn you all that I write as a hobby which was possibly going to be "as a living" but that will have to take it's place in the queue now I have this new development to focus on instead. However, that doesn't mean that I can't write at all and unfortunately for those of you reading, you have become my chosen audience for the time being.
As a further insight into this ... I find it very difficult to say and/or write in a straightforward way so please accept my apologies upfront about my long-winded messages and also my humour which I appreciate will not be to everyone's taste and in fact may even cause many of you to read no further!!
At least I think I am funny so please don't feel bad if you don't and furthermore you must also feel free to tell me otherwise along with sharing the fact that my messages are far too long and make you 'delete without reading aka DWR.
I can be very persistent though and when one of my closest friends plucked up the courage recently to tell me that he doesn't read many of my messages because he is unable to concentrate on the content, let alone digest it because ... "they are just too long. Can you just make them shorter and easier to read as I feel so bad about not reading them", I accepted his feedback as being honest and constructive. In addition because I knew how long he had been living with the overwhelming angst of having to say this to me, I apologised for causing so much worry and I promised "no more long messages". Indeed, I stuck to my promise and the next time we had a conversation (instigated by our shared passion of howling at the Full Moon), I made every effort to be true to my word and instead of writing yet another long and time consuming message, I sent him 24 short messages instead, one after the other.\
I have to say that he didn't message me last night but I know that he is struggling himself at the moment as his sister is living with cancer and his mother is in a deteriorating state because of dementia. I most definitely will not be messaging about "Roofus" ... not even a one sentence message.
So to cut my very first long message short ... tomorrow morning I will making another urgent appointment, this time armed with my very long (obviously) list of all the symptoms that have been dismissed or ignored to date, including the number of 'red flags' they haven't acted on despite raising a few of them with me only 2 weeks ago only to suggest just a week ago that I seemed to have misunderstood what was said in the previous appointment.
I am going to this appointment with a level of positivity and determination about the following things:
- The GP that I get to see will most definitely agree with me and arrange the urgent referral that wasn't made by THAT other GP last week as
- As a consequence of tomorrow's appointment, I will assure that this GP is given some additional feedback on how the usual excellent standards of this GP practice are being put at risk by its recruitment procedures for new GP associates and that they should review how THAT donkey of a doctor managed to get through the doors.
- THAT GP will be getting some free Continuing Professional Development courtesy of me on how to communicate with others who are fortunately not donkeys like himself but are vulnerable patients playing into the powerful and trustworthy hands of doctors.
Thank you for reading if you have managed to get as far as this without falling asleep!! Tomorrow is the big day when I get to know if 'Roofus' is going to be a significant part of my life.
I shall keep you posted. Sending big love and huge hugs to you all. Always be kind to yourself. X
