Armpit thickening and breast lump

Hi all, 

I went to the doctor a few days ago with a painless swelling in my armpit and 2 tiny lumps in my right breast. I’ve been put on the 2 week wait list for a mammogram and potentially a biopsy due to my symptoms and family history of breast cancer. My armpit swelling isn’t a lump as such, more of a raised area with what feels like half a soft grape sliced lengthways inside. Panicking that it’s a swollen lymph node and am just wondering if anyone else has been in the same boat as me. Thanks! 

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Daisy168 although I'm sorry about the symptoms you've been contending with.

    Given your family history I know how worrying this must be but fingers crossed the results from your mammogram (and biopsy if you have one) show that this isn't anything sinister.

    Lots of our members have contended with similar symptoms, so you are not alone Daisy, and hopefully some of them will stop by soon to share their experiences and advice.

    Waiting for tests is never easy, but we are here for you and are sending all our support your way.

    Thanks for your kind and reassuring words Steph :) My appointment is tomorrow so I’m very grateful it’s only taken a week from my initial gp appointment. Hooray for the nhs haha!
