Any advice please when I saw my neurosurgeon last week I signed the paperwork for awake craniotomy I’ve filled in health check form does anyone know how long it usually takes from signing to agree to actually get the operation many thanks
I'm sorry to hear that you're currently waiting for a date for surgery for an awake craniotomy. I hope that you have some good support around you from family and friends while you're waiting for this appointment and then the results of the biopsy.
It's really difficult for us to say how long you may be waiting for a date, as there are so many factors that can influence things. Hopefully the team will be able to slot all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle into place soon, and you won't have to wait too long. Don't be afraid to give the Consultant's secretary a call if you don't hear something soon. They should be able to give you some idea about when you might have news.

Thank you they called me today the surgery is in three weeks I’m anxious and I am still recovering from a minor ichemic stroke last year so will have to come off blood thinners 7 days before I’ve never had an operation before so I’m not sure what to expect or what the lesion could be I appreciate you replying to me
I'm glad to hear that you at least now have a date for your surgery. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious, especially as you've never had surgery before and you don't know what will happen afterwards.
