Pancreatic, blood tumor markers significantly evelavated and slightly elevated amylase ...

I was wondering to those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and had bloods done what your tumor marker level was and the symptoms you had at the time.

I went to the GP last week due to some symptoms I've been having long term and bloods were done 2 days ago the above have came back ( all of the other tests were fine ) and doctor called this morning to tell me and booked an urgent CT scan at the local hospital , they called around an hour after I finished chatting to the Dr and I have my ct scan on Sunday.

Thank you !

  • Hi Natz2345,

I just wanted to wish you the best of luck for your CT scan tomorrow.  We have information on our website on the CT scan and it mentions that getting your results normally takes 1 to 2 weeks but do ask your radiographer tomorrow how long it will take and they will be able to give you a more precise estimate.

I hope all goes well tomorrow - keeping everything tightly crossed for you!

  • Hello , thank you for your message.

I am back home now from the CT scan , it wasn't as bad as I thought it may of with the dye and being in the room.

One of the ladies did ask after it had finished and I was still in the scan room if I had any more appointments today and the lady said to another lady I need to ring ( I didn't quite catch who she said ) quickly.

I don't know if this is routine or what ?

    Would you know ?

They also said as it was urgent I'll likely hear within the next couple of days.

  • Unfortunately this isn't something we can answer but our cancer nurses may be able to help, so if you'd like to have a quick chat with them about this you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We're really glad the scan went o.k Natz and we'll have our fingers crossed the results bring good news in a couple of days time.
